Doing What’s Next at CONEXPO - CON/AGG
Imagine what’s next – that’s the theme of CONEXPO – CON/AGG 2017.
While hundreds of manufacturers will be rolling out their latest and greatest in technology and innovation, others have been quietly leading the way for years. One of those manufacturers is John Deere.
For the first time ever, attendees at CONEXPO – CON/AGG will have the opportunity to get an up-close-and-personal look at one of John Deere’s key technology offerings. What is it? While we can’t let that cat out of the bag, we can say you won’t want to miss out on what happens at the John Deere booth, in the North Hall, N12525.
Along those same lines, RDO Equipment Co. is one of few dealers that, for years, has quietly and effectively served customers through various John Deere technology offerings. As others are imagining what’s next, RDO Equipment Co. and John Deere are doing what’s next.
By fully embracing John Deere’s WorkSight suite of technology, RDO Equipment Co. offers machine support by leveraging the connection to the machine made possible by JDLink. These features include multiple machine data points, machine health, and alerts, along with the ability for remote updates and software downloads. JDLink comes standard on most John Deere yellow iron and RDO Equipment Co. customers are able to receive varying levels of support through RDO Fleet Shield Services.
“We’ve found many of our customers simply don’t have the time or resources to dedicate this level of attention to their machines,” Jeff Lemna, Director of Customer Support says. Through RDO Fleet Shield Services, customers can sign up for plans that offer basic up to the most advanced level of fleet health care.
Lemna continued, “Especially when times are challenging, companies often run leaner crews. This is a way to extend our partnership, by offering access to the best technicians and experts in the industry.”
A team of Machine Health and Technical Communications Specialists serve RDO Equipment Co. customers across the country. All specialists are former technicians themselves, highly-trained, holding various levels of certification, and up-to-date on new equipment and technology offerings.
Proactive fleet monitoring does more than help customers run their fleets smarter and keep them right-sized, it also prevents costly downtime on the job.
“We’ve had a couple instances where we knew about and fixed an issue on a machine, before the customer even knew a problem existed,” Lemna said.
In the instance a piece of equipment does need attention while in operation, the RDO team can investigate and identify a solution, sometimes without having to shut down the machine at all.
“There are issues we can work on, while equipment can stay up and running, “Lemna says. “Oftentimes, a machine may need a simple update, which we can do remotely and quickly, versus having to send someone out to the field to do the update onsite.”
Of course, not all fixes can be handled remotely. But thanks to close monitoring and detailed machine history all within the system, RDO Equipment Co. service technicians are in a much better position to be prepared for the field service call, including having the right parts and the right solution to the problem.
As John Deere has offered new opportunities for better dealer service throughout the years, RDO Equipment Co. has evolved to implement and offer the technology and solutions direct to the customer, which is why Lemna and the rest of the team are especially excited to be part of the experience with John Deere at this year’s CONEXPO – CON/AGG show.
We invite you to visit us at the John Deere booth, in the North Hall, N12525. Connect with Lemna at the show or beforehand on Twitter; you can find him @RDOJeffL.
