Looking Back As We Look Ahead – Our Year in Review

From breaking ground to breaking records, from launches to expansions to acquisitions, 2016 was a standout year for RDO Equipment Co. Not one to rest on its laurels or simply ride out challenging economic conditions, RDO Equipment Co. seized 2016 and the opportunities to better serve customers, partners, employees, and the community.

RDO Equipment Co. Announces “Agriculture Technology” Podcast
Always striving to lead the precision agriculture industry, RDO Equipment Co. launched the Agriculture Technology Podcast in February. Every other week, the podcast delivers timely news about equipment, manufacturer partners, and advancements in agriculture technology.

Announcing RDO de Mexico Partnership
This partnership, announced in April, provides used equipment and used equipment and irrigation products and service to customers in Mexico. The partnership offers a great deal of opportunity in an evolving and expanding marketplace.

RDO Integrated Controls Expands Topcon TopNETlive Network
Topcon’s TopNETlive network is the most accurate, most reliable, and largest GNSS network in the country. In April, RDO Integrated Controls brought network coverage to five new states, expanding the footprint from California to include: Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

FAA Part 107 Rules for Flying Drones was Just Finalized. What Next?
While technology, products, and the equipment industry in general continue to advance, one area perhaps saw the single most growth and advancement in 2016: drones. Announced in June, the change to FAA Part 107 rules for commercial UAS operations was one of the biggest game-changers.

RDO Equipment Co. Named to Prairie Business Magazine’s 50 Best Places to Work
August of 2016 wasn’t the first time RDO Equipment Co. was recognized as one of the area’s best places to work. But that doesn’t diminish the honor of the award, as commented by Chris Cooper, “Because this recognition is based off of employee submissions makes it all the more rewarding.”

RDO Equipment Co. Opens New Store in Chandler, AZ
To meet the growing needs of the Phoenix community, RDO Equipment Co. took a vacant 11-acre lot and transformed it into the company’s second store in the Phoenix metro area. RDO Equipment Co. – Chandler officially opened its doors in September 2016.

RDO Water Acquires Kuida Ag Supply Company
In an effort to expand irrigation products and solutions, strengthen service and insight in the region, and offer new opportunities to RDO Equipment Co. customers in Salinas and Watsonville, RDO Water brought on the business and the entire staff of Kuida Ag Supply Company in September.

RDO-Vermeer Service Technicians Complete Vermeer’s Master Level Certification
Three years ago, Vermeer launched a unique certification program for service technicians in its dealer network. Since then, five technicians in Vermeer’s global dealer network have achieved the highest level of certification through this program. Four of them work at RDO Equipment Co.

17th Annual RDO Caters Taters for Charity Breaks Records
Not only did RDO Equipment Co. and R.D. Offutt Company’s November potato luncheon raise a record-breaking total donation for benefiting charity, YWCA Cass Clay, it served more people than ever in the event’s 17-year history.

RDO Equipment Co. Partners with Sentera to Expand UAV Offerings
As the interest and demand for drones grew exponentially in 2016, RDO Equipment Co. recognized a new potential customer base, and, in December, teamed up with a leading UAV company to effectively meet the needs of this unique group of agriculture professionals.
