Mankato Motor Grader Demo Day
Posted 10/05/2009 —RDO Equipment Co. in Mankato, Minn. recently held several demo events for John Deere's new "G" Series motor grader. Employees determined that having multiple, localized demos would generate the highest level of attendance, since customers were asked to travel around 30-40 miles. As a result, the store set up four different demo locations in gravel pits around the area, and moved around from site to site each day.
Three graders were lined up - two 772GP's and one 772G. The "G" was equipped with a push block and ripper, one of the "GP's had a Handy Hitch roller attachment installed, and the other "GP" had a Little Falls snow wing installed. A John Deere Product Specialist and a representative from Handy Hitch were also in attendance to answer any specific questions from customers.
The demos started at 10 a.m. each day and ran through 4 p.m. The events kicked off with a walk-around on the grader, with RDO Equipment Co. and John Deere product specialists discussing key features of the "G" Series. After the walk-arounds, customers were able to get in the seats and run both the "G" and the "GP" machines. The remaining time was scheduled as one-on-one time for the customers and RDO Equipment Co. sales professionals.
"We had a lot of customers attend that have traditionally been very loyal to CAT, but are now starting to express their true feelings about Cat's new "M" series - and the feedback is not all positive," said Todd Koenigs, Mankato and Sauk Rapids General Manager.
"Every one of those customers liked what John Deere has done with the "G" series grader. Thanks to the Mankato employees for creating these great events and getting our customers in front of this equipment," he added.
