Minot Hosts Unique Customer Event
Posted 04/23/2010 —Often, RDO Equipment Co. locations host customer appreciation events in the shop areas, but Minot did something very different when they hosted two separate customer appreciation events on March 9 and 10. The events were held in the ballroom of the Holiday Inn in Minot. The hotel charged no fee for the room, based on the amount of food that was consumed. Adding to the ambience of the event, the hotel allowed RDO Equipment Co. to bring in 14 pieces of equipment to display, including, a 764 High Speed Dozer and a 772GP motor grader.
On March 9, 2010, Minot hosted roughly 80 governmental customers from the area cities and counties. They were treated to a plated meal, and received in-depth training on Tier 4 and oil sampling, Topcon, and Vermeer product information - all presented by RDO Equipment Co. team members.
March 10 saw a customer event with over 300 attendees, utilizing the same classroom-type sessions, along with factory representatives on-hand, and a contractor social held at the end of the day.
This type of customer event is unique in that it's not held at the store. "In our experience, hosting it at a hotel is more cost effective than shutting down our shop for four days, because it allows our shop to continue to generate revenue" said Jon Markle, Minot General Manager.
"We received a lot of positive feedback from our customers that they enjoy this type of event," Jon added. "It's evident that we provided a unique experience and learning opportunity for all of our attendees."
