Vermeer Pacific - Portland Supports Local Dozer Day Charity Event
Posted 06/02/2010 —Vermeer Pacific - Portland participated in Dozer Day on May 15-16, 2010. Dozer Day is like going to a fair, but without emptying your pocket book. Kids hop in the driver's seat and actually drive big yellow dozers, dump trucks and other heavy equipment with a professional operator at their side. Not only is it a dream come true for kids (and fun for the whole family), but the event also benefits many local children's charities.
The Vermeer store donated use of a Vermeer RTX750 Vibratory Plow. The kids were able to ride on the tractor and in some cases, steer the unit and operate the plow. A couple Portland team members also volunteered at the event, including Donald Wiseman, Sales Professional, and his son, Nick, along with Ike Malson, Portland General Manager.
The 2010 Dozer Day was incredibly successful. They hosted over 20,000 guests, and are currently finalizing the total amount raised for charities.
"This was the second year we were involved in this event, and we will continue to do so. It's a great way for us to get involved with a charity event, have some fun, and show off some Vermeer equipment," said Ike Malson.
