Fontana Donates Use of Equipment for School Clean Up Initiative
Posted 07/07/2010 —A local elementary school needed assistance cleaning up planters near the main entrance and improving their garden. Vermeer Pacific - Fontana, along with Colby Gergovich, Southern California Regional Parts Manager, came to the rescue. The Fontana store donated the use of a used Mustang skid steer, which Colby used to move large rocks and a truck load of mulch. All of the old plants were ripped out, and then large rock and mulch was moved. Then the volunteers planted the areas with drought-tolerant California native plants.
"The garden now looks great. Both the teachers and kids really enjoy growing flowers, tomatoes, corn, and even potatoes. It was a great project to be involved in, and the school was very appreciative of our equipment donation," said Colby.
