Community Involvement Profile - Lon Kindseth, Vice President Midwest Construction
Posted 05/06/2009 —At RDO Equipment Co., employees are expected to do what they say. In fact, it's one of the five Core Values that are at the foundation of everything we do. What is most important in the eyes of employees is to see our leaders practicing these Core Values as well.
Lon Kindseth, Vice President Midwest Construction, has done just that. In his region, he advocates that his locations and employees be active members of the communities they live and do business in.
"Not only is it important for our stores to be good corporate citizens, but it's important for our employees to reap the benefits of volunteering and see that a little hard work can go a long way in their community," said Lon.
Lon and his wife Dianna are supporters of the Ruth Meiers Hospitality House, located in Bismarck. The Ruth Meiers Hospitality House is primarily a homeless shelter, but also offers other supportive services such as a soup kitchen, a healthcare center, and a food pantry.
In addition to monetary support, Lon, his wife, and his parents, are avid volunteers. "You can always find someone from their family working at one of our fundraisers or attending our community events. Their spirit of giving is a good example to many who want to become involved in our community," said Susan Martin, the Executive Director of the Ruth Meiers Hospitality House.
"When Dianna and I first heard of the Ruth Meiers Hospitality House, and how it helps so many people that are experiencing hard times get back on their feet, we felt this is an organization we needed to be part of," said Lon.
"Ruth Meiers Hospitality House is very blessed to have both Lon and Dianna as community partners in helping us to brighten the futures of many homeless and low-income people. Thank you Lon and Dianna for being who you are!" added Susan.
