Within the last month, the new RDO Equipment Co. store in Riverside saw one of its most complex projects come to fruition – and it’s likely not what you’d expect.
From sketches to fabrication, to permitting and final installation logistics, exterior signage is one of the most challenging, lengthy processes in the construction of a new building. At the end of March, the installation of major manufacturer partner signage, including John Deere and Vermeer, was completed. A big milestone for the team, Duane Bonini, General Manager, explains why signage is also significant to customers.
“Although the existing Riverside store has remained open and fully operational during construction of the new building, customers see these signs up and realize they’re one step closer to having a new, state-of-the-art facility for their equipment needs,” he said. “It’s exciting, for us all.”
In addition to signage, visible progress has been made in other key areas of the building. The parking lot is poured, sheet rock is nearing completion, and interior concrete floor polishing has begun.
With much of the exterior jobs nearing the finish line, the team is soon shifting focusing to interior work. Dennis Howard, Vice President of the southwest construction region, shared a few details of upcoming projects through the rest of the month and into May.
“Finish work, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC/controls is scheduled to begin in the final week of April,” he said. “Next month, we’ll start bringing in retail fixtures, shelving, and furniture.”
