What’s New at RDO Equipment Co. – May’s Equipment Industry Update

There’s always excitement over new things, whether the latest smartphone or piece of equipment. But equally important as it is to celebrate what’s new is to acknowledge the value of what has been around for a long time.

In that spirit, RDO Equipment Co.’s top moments from May can be summed up as a mix of celebrating what’s new while also honoring longtime team members and service.   

1. New Format – RDO Agriculture Technology Podcast Changes It Up
After more than five years, the RDO Agriculture Technology podcast welcomes a new format and a new co-host. Agronomist, Jacob Maurer joins Tony Kramer on a new episode to talk about the change.

2. New Store – RDO’s Newest Store in Dayton, MN Opens
Amidst all the unpredictable aspects of life these past few months, one thing remained as planned: RDO’s newest construction store in Dayton opened. In fact, the store even opened two weeks ahead of schedule.

3. New Take on Longtime Service – RDO Takes New Twist on Existing Service Offerings
For quite awhile now, RDO has offered video walkarounds to help make the online equipment browsing and buying experience easy for customers. With COVID-19 changing how companies do business, RDO is offering new ways to further enhance online, contact-free shopping. 


4. Longtime Team Member – Dan Rutten Retires After 45 Years of Service
Technical Communications Specialist, Dan Rutten, retired after 45 years with RDO. Dan’s career path with RDO was a unique one; he began working as a Field Service Technician then eventually moved into the Technical Communications Specialist role where he put his knowledge and skills to work to continue to help customers in a new way.  

5. Longtime Team Member – Richard Hruska Celebrates 41 Years of Service and Retirement
While machines and technology may have changed since Richard Hruska first began his career as a service technician, his passion for equipment, serving customers, and partnering with fellow team members didn’t. Richard spent nearly his entire 41-year career in Mankato.

6. Longtime Team Member – Rick Ihnen Reaches 30-Year Milestone  
Not all years of service milestones also include a retirement. Field Service Technician, Rick Ihnen, celebrated 30 years on the job working with equipment – and is poised for many more years of solving problems and getting customers back up and running.
