Manager of Corporate Archives and History. It’s a title few people have but for history enthusiast, Neil Dahlstrom, it’s his job at John Deere, and one he describes as being like “a kid in a candy store.” Neil’s unique role includes collecting records, artifacts, and equipment produced since John Deere’s earliest days, and understanding what happened throughout the years, drove company decisions, and led to success.
Host Tony Kramer eagerly invited Neil on the podcast to talk about a big company milestone in 2018: the 100-year celebration of John Deere tractors. In addition to discussing more about his job and the ways John Deere is celebrating the anniversary all year, Neil also mentioned another significant company milestone that, luckily, never happened.
