Build Montana Kicks off Second Year of Teaching for Tomorrow

The RDO Equipment Co. store in Billings, MT was host to a kick-off event for the second year of the Build Montana program.

Build Montana is a partnership between the Montana Contractors’ Association (MCA), the Montana Equipment Dealers’ Association, and the MCA Education Foundation, designed to expose students to the construction industry and show them the opportunities it holds.

The orientation and “signing day” event at the RDO store welcomed 10 high school juniors and seniors into the program, which will take place this spring. Three new partner organizations also joined the program’s ranks: Cop Construction, Tractor & Equipment, and Tri-State Truck and Equipment. These companies will contribute to the students’ hands-on learning opportunities, alongside Knife River and RDO.

“Last year was a great experience for both the students and those of us involved in the programming,” said Store Manager John Hurd. “We’re excited to put everything we learned into practice in year two and continue to support the future of Montana’s construction industry.
