Overview of John Deere Work Analyzer

Overview of John Deere Work Analyzer

1 Dec 2025 Author: Jake Livingston Read time: 3 min

In between growing seasons or crop cycles is the time when growers can reflect, looking at opportunities to improve efficiency and save on inputs for the next season or cycle. One digital tool that can help is John Deere’s Work Analyzer. Part of the John Deere Operations Center™, this app collects and organizes data from JDLink™-connected equipment to provide insights into field and fleet performance.

What is Work Analyzer

Work Analyzer is a powerful tool within the Operations Center that helps growers visualize, evaluate and optimize field operations. Work Analyzer can present information like crop yield, moisture and machine usage in a sortable, filterable table format. This can help farmers to identify trends, generate reports on specific fields, equipment, operators and crop varieties. The system helps users analyze performance, optimize operations and make data-driven decisions. By integrating machine data, agronomic insights and application records, Work Analyzer empowers farmers to make informed decisions in both real-time and post-season.

For example, precision and timing are critical when growing leafy greens, so farmers use Work Analyzer to understand how their sprayer is performing, down to the individual nozzle. Here are other real-world applications for John Deere’s Work Analyzer.

  • Visualize spray passes and identify overlaps or misses using field boundary mapping.
  • Track boom height control to ensure optimal coverage and reduce drift.
  • Integrate weather data and soil moisture sensors to time applications more effectively.
  • Compare prescription maps with actual application data to evaluate efficacy.
  • Use real-time analytics to adjust tank mixes and application rates on the fly.
  • Uncover in-season insights by un-siloing spray records, helping you plan better for the next pass or season.

What You Need to Get Started

To use Work Analyzer effectively, you’ll need a few key pieces in place:

  • John Deere Operations Center account: This is where you’ll create, manage and send your work plans.
  • Compatible display: A Gen 4 or G5 display is required to receive and run work plans in the cab.
  • Connected equipment: Machines need to be connected to JDLink™ to receive plans wirelessly. If your equipment isn’t connected, you can still transfer plans manually using a USB drive.

Steps to Get Started

  1. Log into Operations Center and navigate to the “Analyze” tab.
  2. Select Work Analyzer and choose your field and operation (e.g., spraying).
  3. Filter by date, machine or operator to drill into specific events.
  4. Overlay prescription maps and as-applied data to evaluate performance.
  5. Export reports or share insights with your agronomist or RDO Equipment Co. support team.

Tips for Maximizing Efficiency with Work Analyzer

  • Use See & Spray™ technology: John Deere’s precision sprayers use computer vision to target only the weeds, reducing herbicide use by up to 70%.
  • Adopt sprayer tender systems: Tools like SurePoint QuickDraw automate mixing and reduce human error.
  • Digitize your records: Replace notebooks with digital logs in Operations Center to unlock in-season insights
  • Leverage weather integration: Avoid spraying during suboptimal conditions by syncing with real-time forecasts.
  • Maintain consistent boom height: Use automated systems to ensure accurate application and reduce drift
