What Impacts the Price of Your John Deere Compact Track Loader?

What Impacts the Price of Your John Deere Compact Track Loader?

If you're in the market for a compact track loader (CTL), we understand that price is a major consideration. You deserve a machine that meets your operational needs and fits your budget — without compromise.

At RDO Equipment Co., we’ve been connecting customers with John Deere machinery since 1968. Our team is passionate about helping you succeed, and that starts with finding the right CTL for your job.

Let’s break down how John Deere compact track loader pricing works — and how you can make a smart, cost-effective investment.

Note: This article focuses on pricing for John Deere compact track loaders. For wheeled skid steer pricing, check out our article, What Impacts the Price of a John Deere Skid Steer?

How Much Does a John Deere Compact Track Loader Cost?

In 2025, new John Deere CTLs typically range from $60,000 to over $150,000, depending on the model and configuration. You can also build and price your CTL online to get a more tailored estimate.

Several key factors influence the final price.

Factor 1: The Size of Your Compact Track Loader

The size of your CTL — its frame, weight, horsepower and lift capacity — plays a major role in pricing. Larger, more powerful machines generally cost more.

Here’s a general idea of how size impacts price:

ShapeFactor 2: Cab Style and Technology

The second factor impacting your John Deere compact loader price is the cab style you choose, and the technology you opt for. When choosing a compact track loader, there are several cab variations you can select from, they are:

  • ROPS (Roll-Over Protection Structure): Basic open cab

  • Enclosed Cab with HVAC: Adds heating and air conditioning (SmartGrade™ upgrade available).

  • Premium Cab: Includes high-flow hydraulics, advanced controls and SmartGrade™ technology factory-built in.

Cab upgrades can add $5,000–$50,000+ to your base price. Here’s how:

Here are some common attachments and general price estimates.

Factor 4: Extended Warranties

Every new John Deere compact track loader comes equipped with a 2,000-hour full machine warranty. If you want to, you can buy an extended warranty for your machine.

You can expect to pay between $1,000 and $10,000+ for an extended warranty, depending on the comprehensiveness and duration of the plan you choose and the machine you purchase.

Here are some examples of warranties and price estimations, using three popular models:

Factor 5: Delivery and Fees

Consider delivery costs and other fees as the final factors.

You should expect a processing fee for your compact track loader, especially if you finance it, although these costs are less significant compared to attachments, cab options and extended warranties.

These fees should not exceed a few hundred dollars.

If you need your machine delivered and you live outside a certain radius of the store, you might incur a fee. Delivery is usually free within 15 miles and billed by the mile beyond that.

Since many customers pick up their CTLs, delivery tends to be irregular and flexible.
