Service Technician Construction Technology Training at RDO Equipment Co.

11 Oct 2024 Author: Jake Michels

Technology is entering the agriculture, mining, construction and forestry industries at an impressive pace. As companies around the U.S. adopt this technology and heavy equipment becomes more advanced, the skills service technicians need to do their jobs effectively also change.

As you look for the next step in your career, finding a company with great training for the products you’ll be working on is high on your list of priorities.

At RDO Equipment Co., we’re dedicated to meeting customers where they are and providing them with the best support. This includes creating systems to sell and service precision construction technology.

We have hundreds of service technicians around the U.S. who regularly work on and around precision technology products from companies like John Deere, Topcon, Carlson Machine Control and Wingtra — to name a few.

So they’re successful long-term and comfortable daily, RDO service technicians who work on these systems undergo our in-house training program. In this article, we’ve broken down what this training includes to help you feel more confident about whether we’re a good fit for you as your next employer.

What Kind of Technology Solutions Do RDO Service Technicians Work On?

The service technicians at RDO work on the product lines that their specific location specializes in.

For example, in Bozeman, MT, RDO technicians spend their time working on John Deere and Wirtgen Group construction machinery. This store also sells Topcon solutions. At RDO in Fergus Falls, MN, technicians specialize in John Deere agriculture and Vermeer machinery.

Depending on your location, the type of technology you work on will change. That said, expect to work on technological solutions from one (or more) of the following providers:

  • John Deere
  • Topcon
  • Carlson Machine Control
  • Wingtra

Each of these companies offers training and education programs for service technicians, sales personnel and parts professionals. RDO’s in-house technology department takes this training and produces a specific training program for the service technicians at our construction-focused dealerships.
