Access Your Future Internship Programs

RDO Equipment Co. has been partnering with colleges and universities to hire talented students since the early ’90s. In 2003 the Access Your Future Service Program was created. After continued success with our Access Your Future Service Program, we extended the Access Your Future Program to include a sales and parts path.

Service Program

The Access Your Future Service Program is for students interested in a career in the equipment industry as a Service Technician. This program provides two distinct career paths, Service Intern and Service Technician Apprentice, for qualified students who will be attending, are currently attending, or have just graduated from a two or four-year accredited diesel technology program or a certificate program. There is potential to earn up to $16,000 upon graduation along with other financial incentives.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a diesel program to be considered for the Service Intern role
  • If applying for a Service Technician Apprentice under the Access Your Future Program, RDO Equipment Co. needs to be your first employer within the diesel industry following graduation
  • Maintain and graduate with a GPA of 3.0

Sales Program

RDO Equipment Co. has partnered with colleges and universities to hire students who will graduate with a degree in applicable programs. We are also interested in students pursuing degrees in other programs that have an interest in our industry and/or sales opportunities. The Access Your Future Sales Program has two path options for students, Sales Intern and Sales Trainee, which will depend on their semester in school.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in college and available for a summer internship to be considered for the Sales Intern role. If applying for a Sales Trainee role under the Access Your Future Program, you need to be a graduating college senior.

Parts Program

The Access Your Future Parts Program is for students interested in a career in the equipment industry in a parts position. This program has one path option for students where they must complete an internship during the summer or throughout the school year totaling at least 360 hours. There is potential to earn up to $7,000 upon graduation along with other financial incentives.

What type of equipment will I be working on and/or selling?
There is an opportunity to work on and/or sell John Deere Agriculture and Construction, Vermeer, Topcon, Mack, Volvo, Isuzu, and Fuso depending on where you choose to apply.

What will my pay be?
Your hourly wage will be based upon many factors which include, but are not limited to, experience, academic performance, cost of living factors, and others. As a participant in the organization’s career path efforts, you will have the opportunity to advance your skill set, performance, and compensation throughout your career.

Are there opportunities for advancement?
Yes! RDO Equipment Co. prides itself on providing employees the opportunity to advance within the organization according to their skills and experience. This will be discussed in greater detail during the interview process as well as throughout your career with RDO Equipment Co.

Could I work part-time with RDO Equipment Co. while I am enrolled in school?
Yes, students who are enrolled in a diesel program and are participating in our Access Your Future Intern path are eligible to work at a dealership, if a position is available.  Students can work part-time after classes, on weekends and breaks from school, depending on proximity to the dealership. Students would get paid an hourly rate. The same applies to students participating in the Parts Intern path.
