High-production Project Equals a ‘Series’ 1 Solution

24 Aug 2022

In North Dakota, the window to build roads is short, and harsh weather leaves many roads in need of repair or replacement.

Northern Improvement, a heavy, highway, and municipal construction company won a high-production job to build a four-lane stretch of Interstate 29. More than 15,000 feet of f I-29's southbound lanes not only needed to be repaved and widened to 30 feet but also raised 16 feet, so the job required a high-production slipform paver

Northern Improvement team consulted with RDO team members and WIRTGEN GROUP technicians to find a machine that could be configured to the high-profile job.

Enter the WPS 102i Placer/Spreader, the first slipform paving train of its kind in North America.
