RDO Equipment Co. welcomed customers, employees, industry partners and community members to celebrate the grand opening of its new West Haven facility. The event marked an important milestone for the local team and RDO’s continued investment in the contractors building roads, preparing sites and supporting growth across northern Utah.
Before moving into the new facility, the West Haven team served customers from a location with limited shop space, technician capacity and room for trucks transporting heavy equipment. The team made the most of the previous operation, but customer demand and construction growth had outpaced what the facility could support.
“Contractors have tight windows within which to get their work done, so access to responsive, knowledgeable service can make a meaningful difference,” said Marshall Anderson, RDO’s executive vice president of Mountain Construction. “This investment brings greater service capacity closer to our customers and strengthens the support available for equipment and technology throughout the region.”
The new 31,735-square-foot facility gives the team more room, resources and specialized capabilities to serve customers closer to their northern Utah job sites.
“This facility is the result of our customers continuing to grow and asking us to grow alongside them,” said Seth Anderson, West Haven store manager. “With more service bays, technicians and parts available locally, our team can respond more quickly and help customers keep their equipment working.”
Northern Utah Expanded Service and Parts Support
One of the most significant benefits of the new store is its expanded service capacity. The facility includes 12 full-service bays, an indoor wash bay and improved truck access that makes it easier to transport large equipment into and out of the store.
The West Haven technician team has grown from two technicians to 10, allowing the store to complete more repairs and scheduled maintenance locally. This added capacity reduces the logistical steps involved in sending work to RDO’s Salt Lake City team and gives customers more support near their northern Utah operations.
For contractors working on demanding schedules, that local capacity can make an important difference. Faster access to service helps customers reduce equipment downtime and keep time-sensitive projects moving.
The expansion also strengthens the store’s support for Wirtgen Group paving, compaction, milling and roadbuilding equipment. With additional technicians and service space, the West Haven team can complete more of that specialized work locally and closer to where customers operate.
Parts inventory has also grown from approximately $600,000 to roughly $2 million. Automated Vertical Lift Modules and adjustable racking help the team organize and retrieve parts efficiently, while expanded on-site hydraulic hose-building capabilities provide another resource for time-sensitive repairs.
More Equipment and Technology Solutions in One Location
The new West Haven store brings equipment, parts, service and jobsite technology support together in one location.
In addition to supporting construction, roadbuilding and aggregate equipment, the store is now a full surveying-supply outlet. Customers can access products ranging from stakes to laser equipment, along with positioning and surveying support for equipment and jobsites.
This combination gives contractors and surveying professionals a local resource for solving a wider range of equipment and technology needs. West Haven will continue working as part of RDO’s broader support network, including close collaboration with the Salt Lake City store, while providing more day-to-day capacity and expertise near customers’ northern Utah job sites.

This facility positions our team to be more responsive, build stronger relationships and support the work shaping northern Utah.”
Investing in the West Haven Team
The new store represents an investment in local careers as well as customer support. The West Haven team has grown from 10 to 31 employees, expanding the technical expertise available to customers throughout the region.
The team also supports career development in the heavy equipment industry through RDO’s Access Your Future Service Program. With a larger facility and more room to host students and community partners, the store has new opportunities to introduce people to technical careers and strengthen its connections with area schools and workforce programs.
“This building reflects the persistence and adaptability of our team,” Anderson said. “They continued finding ways to support customers when space and resources were limited. We’re grateful to our employees for their commitment and to our customers for the trust that made this expansion possible.”
During the grand opening, guests toured the new facility, met with RDO equipment and technology experts and learned how the store’s expanded capabilities will support contractors across Weber County and northern Utah.
More than a celebration of a new building, the grand opening marked the beginning of a new chapter for the West Haven team. With greater service capacity, more parts available locally and expanded surveying and technology resources, RDO is positioned to continue supporting the customers and communities building northern Utah’s future.
